We intend to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of Islamic (partnership) financing in order to develop exchange instruments and partnership financing instruments that comply with the requirements of Russian Federation legislation, including Federal Law No. 325-FZ of November 21, 2011, “On Organized Trading,” Federal Law No. 7-FZ of February 7, 2011, “On Clearing, Clearing Activities, and Central Counterparties.”
«The Exchange Commodity Market Forum is a strategically important platform for the exchange trading sector, where new promising markets and areas of development appear every year. Today, it includes such areas as construction, the secondary raw materials market, and a completely new promising area for development – the Islamic financial system. The agreements signed today will create a solid foundation for effective cooperation, which will take on a systematic and constructive character. I am fully convinced of this,» said Igor Artemyev, President of Petersburg Exchange JSC, in his speech.
As part of the agreement, it is planned to implement a number of innovations in collaboration with AS SALYAM. «To create comfortable trading conditions with the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, we will create new sections and tools, expand the range of traded goods, and supplement the formats for concluding transactions. This will allow the Petersburg Exchange, as part of an experiment in partnership financing, to become a link between the Russian commodity market and the markets of the OIC countries,» commented Kazbek Pshinshev, Assistant to the President of Petersburg Exchange JSC, on the initiative.
Renat Edikhanov, Chairman of the Board of AS SALYAM, expressed confidence that the work within the framework of the signed cooperation agreement with Petersburg Exchange JSC will give new impetus to the development of partnership (Islamic) financing in the Russian Federation in the interests of a wide range of market participants, including those in the capital market.
